Acecamp Glow In The Dark Sleeping Bag!!! What?!?

 

What could be better than a glow in the dark sleeping bag for a kid in scouts? Not much. This sleeping bag comes in kid sizes so it fits Austin perfectly! The outside of the sleeping bag has constellation like animals, which he loves because he is really into space right now! When the lights are out and it is time to sleep, the white dots on the bag glow in the dark! This sleeping bag has a hood top to keep your child completely wrapped up too! There is also a small pocket on the inside of the bag right by the zipper. I thought maybe this was for keys but since this is a child sized sleeping bag that seems unlikely. The zipper on this sleeping bag is placed so it is easy for the child to zip and unzip the sleeping bag when needed. We have not got to use this sleeping bag for camping yet, but we have a pack camp out planned for mid January and this will be going. Austin really enjoys this sleeping bag and likes that it is just his size, the other ones we have are adult sized bags. Overall the quality seems really good, like I said we have not took it camping yet but for at home use it seems to be well made. I am sure we will have to buy a couple more of these for the other kids once they are older.

Thank You Card Set!

I am a strong believer in giving thanks not just at the end of the year but all year long! Because of this I love having thank you cards ready to send or hand out when I want to express graditude in writing! This set is super cute and I love the colors used in it. The gold looks more like brown because it is not metallic but it is really pretty anyways! The stripes and dots make these cards acceptable anytime during the year. These cards can work for a random thank you or for a birthday or wedding thank you because of the simple design. The cards are all blank inside so you are able to write anything you want to include. This set come with brown thick envelopes and round thanks stickers to close them. I love the simple brown envelopes too, they are thick enough to make it through the mail and they just have an old fashion vibe to them!

Edible Glitter Is A Little Amazing!

 

I was recently sent edible glitter to use, and let me tell you it is pretty amazing! The glitter is so sparkly and easy to use, it does not change the taste of your food, and it comes free of a lot of different things! There is no sugar, gluten, GMO’s, nuts, and a whole list of other things avoided in this glitter! The glitter does have coconut in is, so if you have a tree nut allergy make sure to avoid it!

 

The glitter comes in resealable plastic tubes and there is a good bit! I used one tube to do a dozen cupcakes and it was about half done. I even lost some of the glitter while I was taking pictures. This is a good amount of glitter if you are interested in it for cupcakes! The pink is a great color too! It just adds a sparkle to the top of your dessert and makes it a little more fun, I mean cupcakes are already pretty fun!

 

This glitter would be awesome to add to a birthday cake or holiday desserts for an extra special effect!

I was super excited when I got approved for this bracelet. It looks cute online and even better in person. It is really simple but just enough bling to make it interesting. The company also offers a bracelet like this but all the beads have the gems on them. The site offers all types of jewelry for a good price. Overall I am happy with the quality of this bracelet and would love to see more from this company.

Red Photography!

Wild One Family Shirt Set! Mom Shirt, Dad Shirt, and Wild One Onesie!

This is a cuper cute set for a first birthday or just to wear for a family outing! The shirts are black with metallic gold and white text printed on them. The mom shirt and the baby onesie seem to run small but the dad shirt runs true to size. The mom shirt does have a woman’s shirt cut to it where it shapes in, while the dad shirt is just a straight cut. The text looks great on these shirts and the only thing I would like to see changed is the baby onesie having the text only on the top. We put shorts or skirts on Charlotte when she wears onesies and with this one it would cover the text. Overall it is not a big issue and I am happy with this purchase! Each of the shirts are sold separately.

Rooms Need Doors By Sisi Meir! Simple Book Review!

 

I think the first thing that needs to be said about this book is that it needs a trigger warning. This book is about a little girl name Tiki and her family who immigrates to Israel from Iran. Being immigrants is hard enough but Tiki’s family is less than ideal. Her father is abusive with anger bursts and her older brother is following in his footsteps. Tiki’s mother tries to give her family the best but is not always able to. This book shows Tiki’s life with her family, school, and Scouts.

I love how the author shared why she wrote the book. “I wrote this book because I wanted you to become acquainted with the life story of so many families who immigrated to Israel in the 1960’s and found themselves struggling to survive. I wanted you to connect to this specific family and try to grasp the conflicts, the economic struggles and the difficulties of living in a tiny flat where everyone sees and hears everything. I wanted to tell you the story of the mother – struggling for her family and yet not always succeeding, as well as the story of Tiki – going through abuse, being scared and yet, always hopeful!” This is an amazing story and I think she really grasped the whole idea.

Some of the parts in this book are very graphic and might not sit well with some readers. I feel like because of the time frame and the life of Tiki these situations need the graphic detailing for the story. Just be aware they are in the book so they do not catch you off guard.

Tiny Pieces Of Hope by Wilhelmina! Simple Book Review!

“Tiny Pieces of Hope” is an amazingly detailed story about Wilhelmina! This story follows a little girl during the Holocaust. Through the book you learn about her losing her father and mother and ending up in an orphanage. This story tells you about the fears she had and how she used her imagination to make it through. This story shows how the children during the Holocaust understood how serious the situation they were in was. When the family takes in a young boy, Wilhelmina is put in charge of keeping him quiet. She is still a child but can fully understand that if they are crying they are going to get caught. It is very emotional to read this book and see how children were treated. Reading books about adults in the Holocaust is hard but having the story from a child’s point of view make this a more emotional read.

I love Holocaust stories and the ones with children always hit hard. These children are faced with a lot of hate and poor living conditions, simply because they were born Jewish and lived in a certain area. It is amazing how these young children are able to make it through the struggles and keep positive through out the journey. I realize there are a lot of children who did not make it out of the Holocaust and the ones who did gave up everything they had to make it.

Wait For Me Here Book Review!

Wait For Me Here is a book filled with short stories. Each of the short stories focus on a different person faced with a major decision. This book seems to be inspirations, where the people are in a gloomy situation and almost like magic they are now in an amazing situation. The stories in this book vary a lot also. One story is about a high school boy who lies about playing soccer because he is a social outcast. He keeps up this lie and even makes the game winning goal. he feels proud and loves being part of the group. Next we move to a man who has just completed a major project for work. Everyone is celebrating and he is called into the office to be let go. While he tries to process what is happening everything is being set up for him to have a great job. In the end it all works out. I do not care much for this book. I feel like the stories are too positive, I mean they are inspirational but they do not seem realistic. Overall the book is an easy read and has decent stories. I am not so sure about the unexpected twists that are promoted for this book, basically all the stories are super predictable because it always works out.

Wedbox Wedding Photo App

This is a free app from the app store that allows you to share all your wedding pictures with your guests easily! The people you invite to the app can add their own pictures to the collection, like pictures that are posted, and download the pictures (depending on which level you have open). This app is really easy to navigate and have a nice look to it.

You can even add your photographer to this app. Then they can post their pictures on the same collection as the guests. You can even put a wedding time line in to keep your guests updated on the plans for the wedding.

The photo stream can show smaller icon images or larger images depending on your settings. The pictures look great and it is easy to add the pictures to the collection.

Overall I really enjoy this app and found it worked well for my tests. I have not used this for a wedding yet but think it will work well for that. I would recommend this to anyone planning a wedding and wanting to share all their pictures in one place.
