This audio book was not one I was a fan of. The way it was read was very confusing and you ended up being on chapter 8 before the book even started. The first couple chapters are of the table of contents and what the book is going to tell you. As you get into the book further you are told about Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and how it related to IQ and other aspects of your life. I was confused with parts of this book because in some sections it says EQ is more important than IQ but in other sections it says you can not function without both. I felt like this book went in circles and did not really tell me much of anything. I was very turned off with some of the examples used in this book, mainly the example of a boy who eats a cake his mom had for a surprise and the mother beats the kid until he has to be hospitalized and finally dies. This is very extreme and I do not think it was needed in this book.
I do have a degree in Psychology, so this book might be better suited for someone who is not familiar with EQ. I do not feel like this is a good book to listen to if you want to learn more about EQ and how to get a higher one. I would not recommend this to others simply for the extreme examples and the way it is recorded.
