This is a pretty nice pencil sharpener. It is electric and can use batteries or a USB cord that is included. We use the cord with ours because it is easier than using batteries. There is no worry about the batteries dying or anything like that. This also works out well because we keep it by the computer. This is not very loud.
This sharpener comes with a replacement blade so when the blade is dull you can easily switch them and keep using this. This says it is not for colored pencils on Amazon but we have used it with both normal pencils and colored ones. We have used this almost everyday since it arrived, between coloring and doing homework. This is still working well and sharpens the pencils nicely. The sharpener is suppose to idle when the pencil is sharpened but this has not been witnessed. It is not a big deal thought. I am happy with how well this works.
